We love this song! To us, it speaks of safety and security. We all have to face pain, trouble, …mortality. But the text, in this song, helps us acknowledge the antidote to those things. It’s filled with the redeeming love of our Shepherd.
Thomas S. Monson said,
“Should there be a Goliath in our lives or a giant called by any other name, we need not “flee” or be “sore afraid” as we go up to battle against him. Rather we can find assurance and divine help in that inspired psalm of David: ‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want . . . Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me’ (Ps. 23:1,4). May this knowledge be ours.”

“The Sing Thy Grace journey has been incredible. As an artist it is an amazing process to work through a new arrangement, learn it, tweak it, practice it, tweak it again, record it, listen to the rough mix, add additional creative harmonies and counter melodies, send it off to be mixed…. than get the final product back. When I get that email in my inbox to listen to the final mix for the first time I have a process to take it all in. I put on my headphones grab a tissue, close the door and just soak in every note. I listen to it the first time to hear it all together than I will go back and listen to myself, then James on the bass line, and then each of the other guys to hear every small subtle part that makes it a masterpiece. In the group we often refer to these days when we get a song back from Patrick as Christmas. I am like a child experiencing the magic every single time. I think this artistic emotional journey is a big part of what keeps us singing. So blessed to sing songs about Jesus with my friends.” -Dan Kartchner
